Michael, until his first year at Briarcrest, had been passed on from grade to grade even though he did not understand the material. People thought Michael was impossible to teach. When he came to Briarcrest he had a GPA of .76, could not understand the teachers, and did not know how to learn. after being adopted by the Tuohy family, and when Michael started to show real potential, the Tuohys hired a tutor to help him. Sue Mitchell was an alumni of Ole Miss and was known for helping kids who were deemed impossible to teach. With the help of Miss. Sue, Michael, maintained a 2.52 GPA when he graduated.
