The picture in the right shows a funnel cloud. Funnel clouds usually extend off of wall clouds and have the shape of a typical tornado. The funnel cloud does not touch the ground though; therefore, it cannot be considered a tornado.

The picture in the right shows a wall cloud. Wall clouds are clouds that extend down from thunderstorms that form a wall like shape, these clouds tend to have a heavy updraft that prevents any rain from falling.
