Abolition and Emancipation Reform
-Abolition is the call to outlaw slavery.
-Emancipation is the freeing of slaves without payment to saveholders.
-Abolitionists believed in the freedom of slaves and the equal treatment of blacks.
-Before the Abolition movement, Blacks considered themselves as citizens of the United States but white citizens thought of blacks inferior.
-Both white and black citizens joined the abolitionist movement.
-Some blacks were granted freedom, but the majority of them were still enslaved.
