I picked this painting by Juan Gris because I feel like it accurately represents the Cubism Era. It is an oil on canvas. Gris uses cube and triangular shapes to make this painting. Gris uses the shapes to distort and make his face unrecognizable. This signifies that the man is unclear about who he really is. The Cubism era is all about distortion and almost abstract figures.

Man in a Cafè, 1912
