Inspiration for the Cubist Movement

-Most of the Cubist painters produced their work in Paris, France.
-Cubism began between 1907 and 1911.
-Around 1935, America was going through the Great Depression and World War II was about to break out.
-Cubism was popular during the time of both World Wars and many important dates in history. Some work shows objects and feelings of this time.
-"A primary influence that led to Cubism was the representation of three-dimensional form in the late works of Paul Cézanne, which were displayed in a retrospective at the 1907 Salon d'Automne."
-Pablo Picasso is known for being the first painter to use Cubism, and is definitely the most popular. His first painting containing Cubism was inspired by African art.
