The Catholic Church came face to face with challengers who were unhappy with the actions of the Catholic clergy and church practices. By the late Renaissance several people started complaining about the problems in the Catholic Church and caled on the church leaders to get rid of the church corruptions and focus on religion. Soon, thier calls led to a reform movement of Western Christianity, called the Reformation.
