Martha had a very strong opinion on the revolution. She believed that power and wealth weren't the greatest gifts that could be granted though some did. She felt that the correct people always ended up with power, as occurred in the resolution. Martha and her two children are continuing grow up on the farm though they lost their father at war. As she cared for them in their younger days, her children care for her in her latter years. She had one final comment in her diary and that was this:
"I always believed in this country deep down inside. Together we struggled through dark times. But together we were able to reform France into a better and happier place for future generations."
