The people are getting stronger here in Paris. I read in the paper this week that there had been a citizens attack on the prison of Bastille. The facts were as so: "On July 14 a successful stampede into Bastille was made. Though ninety eight of our bravest men fell, as did the 10-foot thick walls of the government. Seven prisoners were released, several troups were defeated, and the governor of the Bastille was assassinated." A neighbor of mine saw Louis on a town run today. He knows how much power we have with our own army. Louis has recognized our government and knows our intentions.

In this picture the citizens of Paris were attacking the prison of Bastille. The attack was brought on because the citizens army had just formed and they were in search of weapons in which the Bastille had.
