The Battle of Normandy

The battle of Normandy lasted from June, 1944 to August, 1944. The invasion of Normandy was one of the biggest military assaults in history. Around 156,000 American, British, and Canadian forces landed on 5 beaches that were along a 50-mile stretch of the coast of Normandy. This battle "resulted in the Allied liberation of Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control."
