Let's start out with a rather familiar face. Disney helped pave the way for future industries and animation studios world wide. Though the company had officially released its first film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, in the year 1937, it had released many more films throughout the following decades. They were best known for adopting stories from fairy tales, and making them more viewable for children before releasing them to the big screen. Such recognizable classics as Pinnochio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi were all released in the 1940s. In the 1950s, more fairy tales popped up and we got Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Alice and Wonderland, and Peter Pan. Fun fact, did you know Walt Disney owned a pet mouse. These furry creatures would later become the inspiration for Disney's iconic mascot Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney was originally planning to name the mouse Mortimer while creating it. This name would be used for the sleazy mouse arch-nemesis of Mickey in the years to come.
