Extra facts
Do you like horror movies as much as I do? Well then you may be interested to know that these two decades are great for horror films. Such classics as: The Ape, Invisible Ghost, House On Haunted Hill, and Indestructible Man were all filmed within these two decades. Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, Jr., and even Vincent Price appear in these films. Bela Lugosi is best known for being the first official actor to play Dracula, Boris Karloff is known for his portrayal of the Frankenstein monster, and Lon Chaney, Jr. is known for being the first official actor to play the wolf man.
Many would agree that Vincent Price can't be credited for any single performance, but he's definitely known for his performance in The Wax Museum. Price is considered by many critics to actually be the father of horror. With science fiction dominating the industry during the 1950s, it made for a good picture to combine these two genres. This is what spawned the Toho franchise Godzilla. In fact, a remake of Godzilla is planned for May of this year if anybody is interested.
