Eleventh Station: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross

Now it was time to witness the most gruesome part of Jesus's crucifixion. No matter how many times I have prepared myself to witness this scene, I have never once been able stomach it. Jesus is practically thrown onto the cross, and the soldiers hold down his arms and legs, ready to nail Jesus to the cross.

I wince each time hammer meets nail, and nail meets flesh. It's too much. Jesus is screaming out in pain, and yet again I am reminded that he is only enduring this pain because of my betrayal. My stomach feels like it's about to rise out of my mouth, and before I know it, I throw up. Jesus is hanging on the cross now, and I sit there, filled with regret.
