-Buna was the first and biggest sub-camp established in October of 1941 located in Oswiecim according to escape2poland.co.uk/aushwitz3. 10,000 people loss their life there due to the harsh labor. At Buna, prisoners worked until their death. (Ayer 8)

-Idek, an SS officer was molesting a young girl in which Elie saw. All gathered, Idek whipped Elie 25 times threatening him to not tell anyone what he saw. (Wiesel 55)

- Elie’s faith was tested for many reasons as in witnessing executions, beatings, questioning, and fear. One execution, a young boy was hung, but the initial drop didn’t break the young boys neck, in result, for 30 minutes he was struggling between life and death.(59)

-Even during these times, Elie admits to Oprah during an interview, he never hated the Nazi’s, only had anger toward them.
