The setting of this story takes place in a castle/palace which gives it that creepy eery feeling to the story. It mostly takes place inside of Prince Prosperos palace it rarely leaves this place. The other setting of the story is the seven rooms that it describes which gives a creepy edge. The setting influences the story because the castle gives it a creepy tone and when the bell rings it tells the people you've survived another hour.
