In 1841 Caroline was able to provide this assistance on a much larger scale. She opened the 'Female Immigrant's Home' and provided accommodation for women who had newly arrived in Australia until they were successful in finding their own accommodation and a job. This initial support provided the women with hope for the future and a better chance of a happier life in Australia.
