Caroline even returned to England at one point and provided advice and assistance to those wanting to move to Australia.
She developed a loan scheme so large families could afford to travel together (as opposed to being separated on different voyages). During Caroline's time in England she also directed her attention to shipboard life. She was concerned that many migrants travelled to Australia on overcrowded, disease infested ships with limited food, water and medical supplies. She worked tirelessly to ensure these conditions were improved.
