Amelie's super-natural aid is the Glass Man, or Raymond Dufayel. Despite always being neighbors, the two don't meet until later because Dufayel explains, "I'm fussy about who I meet. They're all bums." However, he makes an exception and guides Amelie to find the man who owned the time capsule. This sparks an almost father-daughter type relationship between the two. Amelie begins to help him with his recreation of the painting, Luncheon of the Boating Party. In return, he encourages her to look deeper into herself and pursue a relationship with Nino Quincampoix.
