Displacement and using a graduated cylinder
A graduated cylinder is used when you're finding the volume of an irregular shape. The units that are used are milliliters.
The displacement method can be used to measure the volume of a solid object, even if its form is not regular.
Displacement Method: you pour water into a graduated cylinder, then you measure how much water that is. Next you place the object in the water and measure how high the water is. Then you subtract those measurements and that is the volume of the object.
