Internal Fertilization is when the offspring is carried inside the womb. An advantage is that the offspring will be more protected. A disadvantage is that typically they will only have one offspring at a time.

External fertilization is when the offspring is not inside the womb and is fertilized by the male. An advantage is that they can have more off springs at a time. A disadvantage is that they are more vulnerable to predators.
