The Second Great Awakening
The Second Great Awakening is a religious movement that went through the United States between 1790 and 1840.
The preachers of The Second Great Awakening rejected the idea that God predetermined ones salvation, whether a person went to heaven or went to hell.
The preachers believed in individual responsibility for seeking salvation, believed that people could improve themselves and society as well.
