Miss Scatcherd is Jane’s despicable and unkind teacher at Lowood. She is particularly very cruel and abusive towards Helen, despite that Helen is one of the smartest students in her English class. But if it weren't for Miss Scatcherd's mistreatment towards Helen, Jane would have never known about Helen's beliefs about loving enemies and accepting punishments.
