FlowVella is US Government approved

Did you know that FlowVella is an approved US Federal Government approved software application? It’s true. When we worked with the Smithsonian Institute to build interactive kiosks for their Star Wars costume exhibit, part of the process involved becoming a US Federal Government approved vendor.

So what is a government approved vendor? A government approved vendor means that a business has undergone a review process and has become a registered contractor of the US Federal Government. The System for Award Management, or SAM, serves as a database where all of the approved vendors available to be searched by government employees. Once approved, businesses receive codes that can be searched and verified in this database.

The first code that we have is a CAGE Code, a five position code that identifies FlowVella as a company that is interested in doing business with the Federal Government. The code is provided to be a standardized method to identify our particular business. Our CAGE Code alone does not qualify us to do business with the Federal Government, however.

We also had to have our own D-U-N-S Number. The Data Universal Numbering System was created in 1962 and is an international way of identifying businesses on a location-specific basis. D-U-N-S Numbers are unique and stay with a business, even if it is no longer operating.

Beyond the D-U-N-S Number, we also are assigned a NAICS Code, which is another verification code used by the Federal statistical agencies to classify businesses and collecting and publishing data related to the U.S. economy.

Essentially, the Federal Government requires all applying companies to follow a strict (and complicated!) protocol and verifying that the business is in fact on the up and up. We successfully went through the process and now have a Cage Code of 7CRQ4 with our primary NAICS Code of 511210. You can verify our Cage Code on SAM.gov here, and our NAICS Code on the Census.gov website here. If you are US government worker, we can free you from the shackles of PowerPoint! We look forward to helping you build out your training programs, presentations, brochures, and so much more.
