Describe: In Kadar's realistic painting, we see a group of seagulls taking off from a sandy beach. There are calm waves rolling onto the sand and a boat so visible in the background.
Analyze: This picture has very realistic, organic shaped seagulls on a well-drawn organic shaped shore. The background is a little more implied in shape and shaded than the forefront. The blue in the water darkens as it meets the sky in the back. The water also seems to blend in with the sky in some parts. The sandy shores provide some relief from all the blue that overwhelms the painting.
Interpret: I believe the artist portrayed this to show the natural movements that occur. The seagulls flying is something we take for granted and we sometimes overlook the beauty in it. The organic shapes and position of the birds' wings make you almost hear the seagulls flying away and the waves lapping on the shore.
