"Autumn Rain" by Afremov

Describe: Afremov uses implied lines in his work of art. He is depicting a couple strolling through a rainy park. There is an equal amount of yellow, red and green with just a bit of blue.

Analyze: There are many implied lines. The main colors are red, orange, green, black and white. There is a soft blue in the background and it makes the picture a little brighter. The lines have soft edges. The red spots all throughout the painting tie it together. The path down the center of the painting leads you to look at the focal point, the couple strolling down hand in hand. Though there are people in the painting, they are implied and not organic shapes.

Interpret: This painting is showing a couple strolling through a park. It is fall and it looks like it has rained very recently or is currently raining. The leaves on the trees are changing colors and some are already falling off. The fresh rain fall makes the scene look peaceful and calm.
