King Henry was a major figure in England during the reformation. Henry wanted to marry someone else and have a son and divorce his wife because all they were having were girls. He asked the pope and the pope refused to say yes, so he decided to make a new church and declare himself head of it. It was called the Church of England or Anglican Church. He made a break from the church for personal reasons, unlike Luther and Calvin who did it for political reasons. Many church rituals and practices stayed very much like the Catholic Church. Henry also did not change very many of the church practices.
