Every chemical reaction requires a certain amount of energy called activation energy to be absorbed to prime the reaction. There are three steps involved in the mechanism of enzyme action.
1. The enzymes active site must bind with the substance it wishes to act with.
2. The enzyme substrate goes through internal changes that forms the product
3. The enzyme releases the product of the reaction.
