Describe how negative and positive feedback maintain homeostasis in the body. Pg 10-11
Negative feedback
- these mechanisms cause the variable to change in direction opposite to that of the initial change, returning to its ideal value.
- The output shuts off the original stimulus or reduces intensity
Positive feedback
- the result of positive feedback enhances the original stimulus so that the output or activity is accelerated. Not as common as negative feedback.
