Major leaders in Education Reform and their Accomplishments

Horace Mann was an American education reformist. As a politician he served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1827 to 1833. He served in the Massachusetts Senate from 1834 to 1837. He became the first secretary of the Massachusetts Board of Education. He doubled the amount of money going towards education and assisted teachers in being prepared for the classroom.
