Female Leaders in the Abolition Movement and Accomplishments

Isabella Baumfree was a female leader in abolition. She was a slave for the first 30 years of her life who took the name Sojourner Truth. She traveled the country arguing and preaching abolition. She was shown disapproval for her beliefs but also received support and won applause for her speech that urged men to grant women their rights.
