Major Leaders in the Women's Education
Sarah Grimké ran a school for women with her sister Angelina. Sarah and her sister spoke out against slavery and gender inequity. In 1821 Emma Willard opened one of the nations first academic all girls school in Troy, New York. Mary Lyon was another women who opened Mount Holyoke Female Seminary, a higher learning institute for women.
