. Italy belonged to the Axis powers. IIt’s expansion had destabilize the peace after the Great War and had spread WWII to the European countries
.. Suffered extremely in WWI. Many soldiers had died. National economy never recovered sufficiently for Italy to function as an equal to other European powers.
. Italians had expected to had greater recompense and respect than they received at the end of the Great War. Italy was not treated as a real partner in victory by Britain and France. Italians weren’t too happy about this.
