The Caste System

⚪️ To the hindus, people in different castes were different species.
⚪️ Someone in a higher class was better than someone in a lower one.
⚪️ Complex caste rules governed every aspect of a person's life.
⚪️ Some people were considered "so unpure" they were deemed untouchables and therefore kicked out of the caste system.
⚪️ For the untouchables life was harsh; most had to live alone in solitude.
⚫️ Despite inequalities, the caste system kept social order.
⚪️ Presently there are many sub-levels of the caste system and the rules are a bit more flexible for the modern day world.

The caste system is closely linked to hindu beliefs. It has strict guidelines throughout the different levels.
