Who developed this diet?
- Veganism developed from the practice of Vegetarianism.
-The term "vegan" was coined in 1944 by Donald Watson when he co-founded the Vegan Society in England, at first to mean "non-dairy vegetarian" and later to refer to the doctrine that "man should live without exploiting animals."
-He quit eating meat as a child after witnessing a pig being slaughtered at his uncles farm. Years later he quit consuming dairy after he learned the mechanisms of milk production.
- Interest in Veganism increased in the 2000's, and Vegan foods became increasingly available in supermarkets and restaurants all over the world.
