Long-layer Technique

Can be done to both one-length and graduated cuts.
Layers are just an interior cut.
- safety section & cut either one-length or graduated angle

- ear to ear part
- 1" vertical subsection from hairline to part (1/2" from each side of center part)
- standing on client's right, hold section at 90°
- hair cut in the safety section is your guide
- cut in slight diagonal, shorter to longer
- continue grabbing subsections until no more hair reaches the guide, repeat on other side
- always have the guide closest to you and have a consistent angle throughout each subsection
(each subsection will be brought up to the top of the head and from there, 90° upward)
