Catholic leaders decided to call a council of church leaders together. The Council of Trent was held in Trent, Italy. Between 1545 and 1563 the Council of Trent met three times. The bishops were ordered to live within the areas the oversaw by the council. The bishops had to live far away from those areas. Catholic teaching and instituted reform of Catholic old practice was something the Council of Trent endorsed.
