The Invisible Empire
A strategy called the "decade," devised that every member of the Klan was responsible for recruiting ten people to vote for Klan candidates in elections.
Their plan succeeded in the elections of 1924, gaining mayors in the towns of Portland, Maine and Portland, Oregon. In states of Colorado and Indiana, enough Klansmen were appointed to achieve the initial goal, controlling the state government.
The "Invisible Empire" had begun and the news was not unseen by the rest of the nation.
