MCP Address

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

2014 had been a year full of change. It has been a year full of challenges, evolution, and above all that, a year full of learnings for us all.

We started 2014 with 8 remaining LCs in Australia (from 14) and everyone was really concerned about sustainability of the LCs in Australia. By March, we started properly facilitating the outgoing Global Internship Programme as we found the relevance of this in Australia and our contribution to AIESEC globally.

By July, we implemented changes in our financial model and the Sales Management Programme (SMP) for incoming exchange in Australia.

As a nation we focused a lot more on the collaborative culture for achieving and we finally raised exchanges in South Australia after a full year hiatus.

In September, we decided to look at the possibilities instead of the limitations and increased our membership criteria as a nation, set clearer guidelines for LC development. The new customer flow and SMP for outgoing exchange were also introduced in September.

When we met again as a nation in December, we took the stand that we really wanted to achieve the “impossible” for ourselves, for the future generations of AIESEC in Australia as well as for the society that we exist in, Australia by setting big ambitions and thinking outside of what we have always been doing and starting to talk more about our customers rather than ourselves.

AIESEC in Australia has come a long way in 2014 and it is now time to reward and recognise the people who have went above and beyond to make sure that change is not just happening but also sustainable for AIESEC in Australia; people who have led the nation in showing us what is possible; people who we truly appreciate and are inspired by.

Love,

your MCP Mei
