The Dining Room
The dining room of the Roman domus was known as the triclinium. This was a beautifully decorated room, with long lounge chairs on all sides of a large dining table. Wealthy Romans would lie on their left side on these quilted couches, while being served by the slaves, who had been working for hours before that in the culina.
