Solid form: Hair that is shorter in the exterior and longer in the interior. Lengths fall at the same level it is often referred to as a one length cut.

Step 5: Repeat this to the crown area always maintaining and cutting to the guideline and sustaining even tension. Continue releasing small sections.

Step 6: When you reach the ears be sure to avoid tension by placing the back of your comb gently above the ear to avoid tension in a natural fall, use the same tension throughout the haircut and repeat this process on both sides.

Step 7: On the top section find the natural parting position. Working with the same procedure and combing the hair off the forehead, cut this section onto the line. Then work the same process with the other side making sure both sides are even. Assess the shape.

Step 8: Blow Dry and asses and refine.

Spray water through the hair and begin combing through with a wide tooth comb. Be sure all the knots and tangles are out.

Step one: Section hair into four quadrants.

Step 2: The client should have their head positioned in an upright position. Start by taking down a small section from the back two quadrants close to the nape in a parallel to design line. You can ask the client to tilt their head forward for this.

Step 3: In order to control your section use the comb and scissors with loose tension allowing hair to fall in natural position, begin to cut from the centre out. Be sure to position shears parallel and cut with palm up or Palm down.

Step 4: Check and refine the shape to make sure the cut is even and no pieces missed.
