How the Massacres played out and the Aftermath

➡️These nonviolent demands were seen as a threat and were met with a massacre.

➡️In autum of 1895 in Sasun, southern Armenia the killings began. Towns were looted, homes were rampaged burned and destroyed.

➡️Citizens were raped and murdered regardless of age or sex.

➡️Some were beaten nearly to death and left in agony.

➡️Disease and famine spread and killed thousands more.

➡️The United States and much of Europe expressed outrage.

➡️They gave their support to help the Armenians but none did anything to Condemn Abdul.

➡️Abdul covered up the massacres by saying it was to prevent a civil war.

➡️The Armenians remained second class citizens.

➡️This would not be the last act of violence against the Armenians.
