Horace Mann was the leader of the Education Reform also known as "The Father of the Common School". He kicked off the Common School Movement, ensuring that each child could receive a basic education funded by local taxes. He soon spread out of Massachusetts to much of the country because of his belief that the success of a country relies solely on educated people.
