The Corrupt Bargain- In the election of 1824, Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson were the 2 front runners, but nobody won the election, so it went to the House of Representatives. Quincy Adams told Henry Clay, the Speaker of the house, who ultimately made the choice, that if he chose Adams, that Adams would make Clay his Secretary of State.
The Erie Canal- during Adams' presidency, he added funding for many interstates, roads, and universities. Also, although it had already been started, the Erie Canal was finished during his presidency.
