Monroe Doctorine- 1) No more European colonies in North or South America

2) U.S. Will enforce this

3) reinforces George Washington's idea of isolationism

Missouri Compromise- Missouri joined the Union, but wanted to be allowed to have slaves. So, the country compromised, setting Maine apart form Massachusetts and made it a no slave state, and let Missouri have slaves
