Federalism

Federalism- A system of government, which allows the state and national governments to share power together.

Metaphor- Federalism is like the student council of a school, and principal relationship. Just like in Federalism, the national and state governments share power with each other, in the student council and principal situation, the principal ranks higher than the council. Even though the principal gets more power, the student council and the principal still share descisions, such as "choosing if there is power on lunch or not." Some descisions are divided among the two groups evenly, and both share powers among each other.
