Paul Revere's version
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre accured on March 5, 1770. A mob of about 50 people started to throw rocks, sticks, and snowballs at the soldiers. Captain Thomas Preston, of the British soldiers, called in more soldiers and then they started to be attacked also. The soldiers fired into the crowed. Three men were killed on the spot. A black salior of the name Chrispus Attucks, ropemaker Samuel Gray, and James Caldwell who was also a salior. Eight others were injured, but later two of them died (Samuel Maverick and Patrick Carr.)
Paul came up with the idea to make this painting as if the civilians were the victims, and that the soldiers started the fight.
