It is remarkably estimated that 9.4 to 12 million africans arrived to the New World between the 16th and 19th century. The voyage to get to the New World was so hard to comprehend the awful conditions they miraculously survived. The people that were enslaved were chained together with thick sharp cuffs in a line. The were given little to no food. the sanitation of this boat was pitiful because no one really cleaned, because of this diseases evolved. When the diseases evolved they weren't hard for them to spread, considering that everyone was to close for comfort 24/7. For most of the trips it was a series of violent outbursts from some rebel slaves. These slaves attempted suicide and escape, but the crew members strongly forced submission upon them. The way they did this was from one of two ways. The first one was for the people that tried to starve themselves, the crew members would undergo the task of force feeding them. The second was for people who tried to escape, they in turn placed nets around the ship so it was hard for them to. It was amazing and absurd for the slaves that survived these brutal conditions, but sadly for the slaves the pain just begun. They would be forced into harsh labor without a voice.many of the crew members had to think of them as animals, because they didn't want to think of themselves as evil or cruel. The true heart of slavery was power and pain.
