New Map
By: M83
Track 1: "New Map" by M83 is about letting yourself go free and allowing yourself to do whatever one wishes to do. The line, "Rules of conformity, heavy clouds of reason." is an example of when Macbeth was second guessing killing Duncan. In scene 7, Macbeth states, " First, as I am his kinsman and his subject," which showed how wrong it was to him to kill Duncan since he is related to and is loyal towards him. These, "Heavy clouds of reason," are what causes Macbeth to not allow himself to follow what he wants to do, which connects to the line, "They're hiding the beauty of your free distortions." To allow his distortions to run free would mean the killing of king Duncan, which he performs after he lets go of the "rules" and the "heavy clouds".
