Is

By: Pop Etc

Track 4: "Is" by Pop Etc is about being lost and continuing to live. Near the end of the novel, Macbeth is seen giving a speech after hearing about his wife's death. In the speech, instead of mourning, Macbeth is showing his discust towards life. Though the song is showing a brighter more hopeful meaning, while Macbeth's is dark, they both show life continuing to go on even when they are missing a certain element within them. Along with missing something, the lyric, "Life goes on, and people sing their song" is making a point that people continue to live without noticing other people's suffering or excistence, which is similar to what Macbeth said in his soliloquy, "And then is heard no more." This statement has a more ominous tone but is also stating how little a person's life is towards others.
