The History of Latin America

Stretching from Ecuador to central Chile, The Incan Empire built their capital,Cuzco, in what is known as Peru. The Incas major achievements range from engineering to art and architecture. The Incas made massive temples and fortresses, as well as terraces and roads considering they live mostly up in the Andes Mountains. Incans used suspension bridges to cross rivers, which were large cables of rope anchored from one side to the other, making a walkway and the handrail for them to cross over. Although they have no written language, they did have a quipu, which was a series of knotted cords with a variety of different colors, each representing a different item or number. This helped with the recording and sending of messages. Incas also had textiles for clothing, which was another great achievement, for their noble ranking people wore the most brightest and intricate clothing within the Incan society. The fashioning of gold is also another achievement.
