Analysis: The artist used a contrast of light and dark colors. They painted the left corner darker than the rest of the painting and created the woman's coat top white. The balance is very small. They also drew the table at a perspective so it looks 3D. 

Interpretation: The artist painted her lighter than the rest so that your focus would go towards her. The table make sit look like you are in the room with the woman. The balance is so small and skinny that you can barely see it. 

Judgment: I feel they depicted the woman very well but lack in the balance (she is said to be holding). You cannot see it very well and is hard to tell what she is holding (at least in the pictures I'm not sure up close).
